Qwisun is reimagining sex ed with her platform Live Laugh F*ck. She shows up authentically on the internet and gives us glimpses of what it looks like to be creative, in love and educated. We chat about what's been inspiring her lately, her relationship with Instagram and the future of Live Laugh F*ck.
How much is your personal Instagram a reflection of your real life?
I would say it's about 50/50 — I try to be as authentic as possible on Instagram, but I'm definitely in sweats working from home most of the time! It looks like I'm galavanting around, and I do try to do as many fun things as possible, but I'm not doing that kind of stuff all the time despite it seeming like I might be!
How does your relationship with Instagram influence your relationship with yourself?
Sometimes I really need to get offline, haha. I love Instagram for the creativity aspect, and being able to share our lives with each other. There are times when I find myself comparing my life to other peoples' though, and that's when I take a break!
You’re able to show up so authentically and real online — why is that important to you?
I feel like showing up authentically is what I want to see more of, so I try to model that I guess. I want to disrupt the idea that we all have perfect lives, because I personally do not have things figured out in the slightest! Sharing that part of me is important — life is meant to be real and fun and silly!!
What’s the hardest part?
The hardest part is definitely trying not to care what other people think. It can feel like you're constantly being judged, but honestly I've learned to just do what I want to do and not care too much as long as I'm enjoying creating and sharing little snippets of my life!
How often do you execute your creative ideas?
My brain does not shut off! I'm always thinking of my next creative endeavor. Executing them, however, takes more time haha. I try to do at least one creative thing a day though, while maintaining my jobs as a sexual health researcher and educator!
What has been inspiring you lately?
I've been getting more into graphic design and film photography lately! I'm really inspired by people who are constantly creating and sharing projects that are a work in progress, not just a final perfect product. Creativity is about trying out new things, so that's what has been inspiring me lately :)
How does being in love influence your creative energy?
Being in love with someone who supports me really encourages me to try new things without fear of failing. I've been creating a lot more simply because I feel more comfortable doing so, and know that I have someone who is 100% me in all my pursuits.

I love everything you’re doing with Live Laugh F*ck. what has the response been from your audience?
Thank you!! It's been received really well, I'm so grateful for everyone who has supported my project and I'm really excited to do more with it. I'm at a bit of a standstill currently as I don't have funding, but I have lots of idea brewing and am super excited to bring them to life soon!
Where do you want to take it?
I would looooove to create more zines. I think that's one of my favourite things ever, is turning complex material into something engaging, approachable, and relatable. Zines are such a great way to do that, so I'd love to see LLF go in that direction — creating resources for youth and those who work with them!
Do you have any upcoming projects you can share?
I can't share all the details, but I'm working on an exciting brand refresh for a business right now! I'm also slowly working on a Zine about menstruation for youth and educators, but am trying to get some funding for it before I fully dive into it. Other than that, I'm doing a lot of graphic designing and doodling right now just to build my skills and get in a creative mindset.
